What is ClockWorkMod Recovery?
ClcokWorkMod Recovery is a tool for Android devices for installing zip file and updating your android version to custom roms. Its a great utility to install zip files on your android phones, you can create a back up of your current android version, your current settings, and your apps also to your SD Card, you can restore it with ClockWorkMod. If you want to install a system app i.e. DSP manager for enhancing sound volume you have to download a zip file because most of system apps comes in zip formats, you can't install zip files without having ClockWorkMod installed on your phone.
How to install ClockWorkMod Recovery on Samsung Galaxy Y?
First Root your Galaxy Y
1. Download Update.zip file below attachment and copy the Update.zip file in to the root of the SD Card.
2. Switch off your mobile phone
3. After the complete phone switched off, go to recovery mode. For this recovery mode, hold the power, volume up and the home buttons simultaneously.
4. Now can navigate through recovery mode only with the volume up and down buttons. Select Update.zip and the root will be applied on your Galaxy Y.
5. Reboot your phone and it's rooted!! You can check for an application named "Super User" to check whether your phone is rooted or not.
6. Download and install Busybox zip.
Note: Rooting can void your phone warranty, do at your own risk.
Now install ClockWorkMod Recovery
1. Download ClockWorkMod ZIP file to your SD Card.
2. Go To Stock Recovery Mode(Hold Volume Up + Home (Button) + Power)
3. Once you're in recovery mode.Select install zip from Sd card.
4. Select cwm.zip and Flash.
5. After completion Reboot your phone and Enjoy.
